Hike FAQ

  • How challenging is the hike?

The hike has approximately 350 feet of elevation change total over the 1.5 miles. Most of the uphill portions are of moderate difficulty, with one small portion being steep. Most portions of the trail are speckled with rocks and tree roots. Although no hiking experience is necessary, we do recommend that you are able to climb several flights of stairs without difficulty.

  • What should I wear?

We recommend dressing in layers and wearing materials that you can stretch freely in. If there is a chance of rain, a rain jacket would be a good idea as well. Hiking boots are not necessary, but you should make sure whatever shoes you choose have good traction. You will be traversing lots of rocks and roots at times and the trail can be muddy after a rain. Fallen leaves in the autumn can also make for slightly slippery conditions. You may also want to consider a hat, suscreen, and bug spray depending on the time of year. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions!

  • What should I bring?

We recommend bringing a water bottle (or two!), and a hat, sunscreen, and bug spray if you want those items. You don’t need a backpack, but if you would like to bring a small one to carry items with you, you may. Depending on chance of rain, it may be prudent to bring a rainjacket as well. We will have extra water on hand if you need it!

  • What is provided?

We provide hand towels to sit on in case our meditation spots are a little wet. We also bring a first aid kit along for the hike. We will provide extra thick yoga mats, which make it super comfy to be on the ground! We also provide yoga blocks and blankets and we will have extra water and sunscreen on hand in case you have forgotten it.

  • Will we go out if it's raining?

We will still go out with a little rain, however, sessions will be canceled due to inclement weather, including, but not limited to: thunder, lightning, heavy precipitation, extreme temperatures/heat index, or heavy wind. If a session is canceled due to inclement weather, a refund or credit will be given equivalent to the amount of class missed. For more details, please see our cancellation policy.

  • What do you mean by "forest bathing"?

Forest bathing is simply the practice of immersing yourself in nature, like a forest, and bringing awareness to your senses as a way to connect with the nature around you. It has a myriad of health benefits including improving mood, decreasing stress, and lowering blood pressure.

  • What if I'm unfamiliar with mindfulness?

No worries! We make mindfulness accessible, easy, and fun! Also, now that all experiences are privately booked, we can adjust the mindfulness portions to suit your group’s needs. Just reach out and ask!
